Purchasing Gear in Kathmandu & Pokhara: Most trekking gear can be purchased in Kathmandu and Pokhara, with options ranging from leading brand stores to local shops. If you need advise or assistance in purchasing gear, please let us know in advance.
Day Pack Essentials:
- 2 Liters of Water (ensure bottles can hold boiling/hot water)
- Sunscreen, sunglasses, sun hat
- Rain jacket and pants
- Warm fleece or thermal layer and gloves
- Personal medications (critical)
The rest of your gear will be carried by porters in your kit bag.
Storing Gear in Kathmandu/Pokhara:
Before your trek, you can leave any non-essential items or town clothes with your guide for storage.
Health Tips:
- Do not drink or brush your teeth with tap water.
- Only drink properly boiled water or use purification tablets.
- Avoid testing your fitness by ascending too quickly. Listen to your guide’s advice to prevent altitude sickness.
- Wash your hands regularly, especially before meals. Hand sanitizers will be provided.
FIRST AID KIT
Your guide will carry a comprehensive medical kit. You should bring a small personal kit with your preferred medications and extra supplies if needed. Inform us of any allergies when booking.
Trekking Trails:
Trails can vary from wide paths to narrow, dangerous routes. Always pay attention to where you step, especially when taking photos.
Weather Preparedness:
Be prepared for sudden weather changes, even in stable trekking seasons. Ensure you have proper clothing and gear, as unexpected storms can make passes dangerous.
Tipping and Cash:
Carry some Nepalese rupees for snacks and drinks. Tipping is common but not obligatory; tip only if satisfied with the service. We recommend -15 %
Photography Etiquette:
Respect people’s privacy when photographing them. Always ask for permission and show them their photo if possible. Only promise to send copies if you can fulfill that commitment.
Environmental Considerations:
- Pick up litter along the trail
- Burn toilet paper and bury waste when not in camp, away from water source
- Avoid making campfires and consuming food cooked on wood fires.
- Drink boiled/treated water to reduce plastic waste.
- Stick to trails to prevent erosion.
- Ensure all rubbish is packed out or properly disposed of.
Insurance
All participants should have personal insurance covering medical and emergency evacuation, as well as loss or damage to personal items, and trip cancellations.

To make the most of your trek and support the local community:
- Respect local customs, values, and the environment.

- Avoid giving money or food to children; donate to organizations instead.
