Since the inception of Responsible Treks, we have focused on integrating responsible practices into our company ethos. By embracing responsible tourism, we’ve been able to minimize the environmental impact of tourism while maximizing employment and income opportunities for local communities.
Our mission, “Travel & Discover,” is to explore in a way that conserves the areas we visit and brings positive change to local populations.
Before the devastating Gorkha earthquake on April 25, 2015, our efforts were solely focused on tourism. In response to the disaster, we shifted our focus to delivering relief to remote mountain areas. Although our efforts were small, they quickly made a significant impact on many victims’ lives. However, this experience highlighted Nepal’s lack of preparedness for such tragedies.
In light of this, we decided to establish the Responsible Foundation in Nepal. This foundation aims to aid in rebuilding and supporting future development across the country. Moving forward, every trip booked through Responsible Treks will contribute to educating and empowering the people of the remote Himalayas. Our efforts will be concentrated in the following areas:
– Relief Aid
– Cultural and Heritage Preservation
– Education – Eco-Tourism – Conservation
– Agro-Tourism and Organic Production
