The Great Himalaya Trail
The Great Himalaya Trail is one of the longest and highest walking trails in the world. Winding beneath the world’s highest peaks and visiting some of the most remote communities on earth, it passes through lush green valleys, arid high plateaus and incredible landscapes.
The trail covers the full distance of the Himalayan Range in Nepal from the district of Taplejung in the East to Humla and Darchula in the West, and is about 1700 KM. It ultimately continues through Tibet, India and Myanmar in East of Nepal and Tibet, India and Pakistan in the West.
Nepal’s GHT consists of two trails, a lower one and a higher one. The lower trail is suitable for softer adventure while the higher route is an expedition route in most of the segments.
The Trail is divided into 10 segments, each fitting into one another. The idea is not to get people to do this at 1 go but to do every section at your own time.
Some of the adventure trips that we offer that go into the Trail are presented below. Remember, these are not the only trips possible, so if you have ideas, talk to us and we shall customize anything around the GHT in Nepal- Tibet, India & Bhutan too!!!
