31 December 2017, Written by  , Published in Blog

Thank you for making year 2017 one of the Best Year. We had 100 % overall satisfied clients this year. As we head into New Year 2018, we are pleased to share some of the works that we have done beside the trekking.

BEING PART OF CHANGE

This year one of our biggest achievements is being ground partner for Barefoot College. The college was set up in 1972 by award winning Sanjit “Bunker Roy” to teach rural people skills with which they could transform their village, regardless of gender, caste, ethnicity, age or schooling. They demystify and decentralized technology and put new tools in the hands of rural poor; with mostly focused on Least Developed Countries by training the woman as solar engineers, innovators & educators, who then returns to their own village to bring light & learning to their own community.

"Built by the poor, for the poor"

It was an honor being part of this project. Thanks to Barefoot College & Indian Government, three women from remote village of Humla, Far west Nepal is currently training as solar mamas before they become solar engineers in March 2018. For volunteers, you can log into their website.
